Google has expanded Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped with Gemini 3.5 Flash, NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra infrastructure, and native ISV applications from Teradata, Solo.io, and Mattermost. The platform targets defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure organizations that cannot use public cloud AI services. ECI Research data shows nearly three-quarters of surveyed public sector organizations operate in air-gapped or mixed disconnected environments, making this a real deployment challenge, not a niche use case.
